About

Fernbox started as a shared notes doc between three friends who kept recommending each other games during commutes. We got tired of app store listings that promise the world and deliver an ad every ninety seconds, so we decided to test things ourselves and write honestly.

Everything you read here comes from actual play sessions. We install a game, put a few hours into it (sometimes far more), and only cover it if there's something real to say. Offline-friendly titles are our focus because a good game shouldn't fall apart the moment your connection drops.,We pick games across genres on purpose. Some weeks it's a slow farming simulator, other weeks it's a tense turn-based RPG or a bite-sized puzzle you can finish at a bus stop. Variety keeps the reviews honest and keeps us from getting bored.,We don't chase trends and we don't rank games by download counts. If a small offline title surprised us, it gets the same attention as anything else. The goal is simple: help you find something worth the space on your phone.

Lukas Brandt — Lukas has been writing about mobile games for over a decade and still keeps a drawer of old phones for testing older titles. He handles most of the RPG and strategy coverage.
